Internet Access Interception

For monitoring Internet access networks there is generally a choice between active and passive interception methods. With active interception available network nodes like routers (typically edge routers) and AAA servers provide capabilities to monitor the authentication traffic as well as the IP media stream of persons under surveillance. Passive methods on the other hand rely on non-intrusive network probes that are integrated into the operator’s network to monitor all traffic. In some cases a combination of active and passive methods provide the best results or is the only solution feasible.

PSTN Interception

Voice interception in circuit-switched networks (ISDN, POTS) typically makes use of integrated interception capabilities of the telephone switches. Utimaco has implemented interfaces to telephone switches of all leading vendors including Ericsson, Nokia-Siemens, Huawei, ZTE and others.
